i have a 2016 f250 6.7 and everytime i use the ac the air box behind the glove box gets condensate on it and soaks my floor and makes the truck smell like crap. ac drains are not clogged. whats the next step everyone would take
Sound like a mouse decided to build a nest inside the housing of the condenser, pull the access panel and I'd bet you have all kinds of "stuff" packed in there, I had the same issue and though it would work itself out, it didnt, eventually the fan motor was so packed it could not turn, took it apart cleaned it up and everything was back to normal.
No, there is a black box looking thing behind the glovebox, just looked and this looks like its going to be a real PITA, when I had the issue is was on a corvette and that was super simple, maybe a 20 minute job.
the fan is screwed to this box inside the engine compartment, it may be easier to see if you can pull the fan and use a shop vac then a leaf blower to get all the debris out if you dont want to take what looks to be 400 things apart to get to the condenser which looks very similar a heater core.
Do the 2016s have a drain line like the 17+? Those have been known to come back in to the passenger floor board. Fix is a simple elbow install on the drain at the fire wall in the engine bay. Just an idea, I know nothing about 16- trucks. I’m new to ford.
