CCLB SRW 350 here with 3". I opted for the 6" bulletproof. My 6x12 big tex is slightly nose high with this, but I can still flip this over and it not contact the tailgate if it is down. Every other trailer I have towed it has been the correct amount of drop.
I have a 2019 F350 drw. I have the 4 inch drop bulletproof hitch. Its the perfect height for my equipment trailer. If I had a smaller trailer, I would need the 6 inch drop. I kind of wish I would have gotten the 6" just in case, but they hang down so low.
FWIW, I have a weigh safe that sits in my garage. I only use it now for weighing tongue weights on new trailers and not for towing. I couldn't stop breaking them. The fluid would drain out of the scale and stop reading weights. Once this happens, the ball becomes loose and allows a lot of movement. Their customer service is awesome but enough is enough.
I’m on my third Weigh Safe as each time I get a new truck the buyer wants the hitch lol...I’ll grab you some pics of the wear but it’s minor IMO. That said the Ford 2.5 hitch is much looser than my Rams. Overall I think it’s the cleanest hitch out there if you care about looks and a 6” drop works with a stock 250 rear end on 35’s.
I didn't see it mentioned above, so I'll throw this out there:
I've always made my ball mount decision based on the height of the coupler with the trailer sitting level. I don't guess, I just do what the trailer requires.
I had a B&W tow and stow on my last 250 and found there to be more slop in the overall assembly and pin system than with the Bulletproof. Appears from what I've found the Bulletproof drops are true in dimension too.I also like that the bulletproof has the pintle option.
Happened to be going to the deer lease this weekend. 6x12 Big Text with 6" drop 3" shank bulletproof.
2.5" Carli Back Country in the front, stock rear and 295/65R20 Cooper STT Pro's
I believe the SRW long bed F-350's come with a 3" hitch, and the short beds come with a 2.5" hitch, I could be wrong though. I have a 3" on my 19 F-350 Long bed.
I looked a weigh safe and B&W, and I ended up buying the B&W Tow and Stow Tri-ball for the 3" hitch.
