Check engine light
Hey all i have a 2004 ford explore im getting a code of p0430. catalytic converter is it best for me to just buy another one or try and i can use to clean these. dont think i need to do the sensors as per the code any help with this?

This diagnostic code does not necessarily mean the bank 2 catalytic converter is bad. It could be caused by an oxygen sensor that is not reading correctly, but a misfire, or even by an exhaust manifold or manifold gasket leak. Have you performed any troubleshooting to confirm the converter is the issue?

well i know theres no misfire the truck does idea correctly and shifts in and outa gears fine, i drove it on the highway at 70 mph and it was mainly sluggish. after ia look over i did see the muffle will need to be replaced as per a few holes in it.

Hey All quick update i check all plugs and wires checked the manifold the whole exhaust, No leaks all plugs are good, so i did do the heat test one the catalytic converters. drivers side i got like 320 degrees in and out was only like 240-250. passenger was about 320 and 215 -220. so not i believe its the cat. question is should i just do both cats or a whole exhaust?
