92 Ranger stalls, won't restart after trip
I have a 92 Ranger... I'm not mechanically inclined, so please don't flame me, but I don't know any details about what kind of engine etc... More than 130 K miles.
It sometimes stalls right after starting. And sometimes after going to the store or whatever it will not re-start, just makes a clicking sound.
I took it to a Ford dealership, they put a new battery in it and said they didn't get any error codes. It almost stalled when I started it up to drive away from the dealership.
Looking at old forum archives I've put together a list of things to ask another mechanic to check. Please let me know if I've overlooked anything or you've had a similar experience.
Change spark plugs, air filter and fuel filter. Clean out the idle air control valve. Check the connection to the starter solenoid for corrosion. Check EEC relay. Very carefully clean the MAF sensor. (What does MAF stand for?)
