Definitely! I pulled pan just before dark, let it drip all night, pulled valve body and a lot more drained in that process. I don't know what the whole system holds but it's about 10 quarts to top it off after valve body comes out.
And after all of that, I don't really know if it did any good. I haven't needed to drive anywhere enough to know. What little I have driven it, it seems fine. Might be a slight difference but it's hard to say. I think the TC slip rpms are a little different than before but nothing significant. I'll have to drive around on a hot day for several hours to see if it acts up. And then you don't know for sure because it was intermittent before.
Just wanted to follow up. I've driven the truck quite a bit and had zero issues with the transmission or torque converter. The rpm of the TC slip is a little different than it was before I dug into it. It's working fine.
i have towed with it a couple of times also and had no problem aside from the fact that the truck is just geared too fast, so it's gutless for towing. I have solved that problem though. I bought a super duty dually diesel. I will have it on the road soon and my towing problems will be gone.
Now that I've put some pressure on my transmission, and some miles and it has worked well, I'm pretty confident that it is in good shape now.
