NEED A NEW STEERING WHEEL

Has anyone found a source for a new OEM steering wheel? I'm looking for a replacement tan color full leather.

Parchment is your color code, funny there is a vinyl option on the 2003, the ones labeled "Parchment" should be all leather.
Those screen shots are for part reference only and may not be avail from dealers, the same goes for Tasca, Tasca would need to be called to verify.

I've checked everywhere and no luck. The part number for the 2000 & 2001 ia XL3Z 3600 BAA, and I can't find one anywhere. I did check with one auto upholstery place and they quoted $500 to recover mine, plus it would take a week. There's got to be a better way!
Anyone have any ideas? Please don't suggest a cover. I've had those and I want something better.

Did you call Tasca to see if the wheel listed is avail through them? Not sure what the difference in the 2 part numbers would be. When you look at the cost of a new wheel, if avail versus having yours recovered.
I paid just over 500.00 for a recover of my wheel, and it was custom, with two-tone leather. I bought an entire column with wheel from Ebay, and had it avail as a spare in case my original got lost in shipping. Call Dallas Custom Steering wheels in TX. An OE redo should be cheaper than the 500.00..

I don't think those will work on a Limited, because there's no provision for the radio and climate controls.

My bad, I never even caught that he has a limited. Some limiteds' didn't have those extra redundant buttons too.
Best option is to just have recovered then...

I have cruise control but not radio control. If the 2002 wheel would work, there's my answer. There's a new one on eBay with a part number 2L3Z 3600 EAA that fits the 2002 - 2005 with cruise but not radio or climate. It looks identical to part number XL3Z 3600 BAA. Below is a picture of my old grungy wheel and the new eBay wheel. I wouldn't understand if the mechanical or electrical fit wouldn't work. Ford does some funny things with their part numbers. For example the XL3Z 3600 BAA sold for nearly $450, and the 2L3Z 3600 EAA is ~$100 less. The only difference I can see is the connector is different.

Does anyone know the difference, will it mechanically fit up the same, will the cruise and airbag still work???

That part number is listed as Parchment in the screen shot above. You could always swap your cruise switches over to the new wheel, and for that matter any other wiring. The cruise switches are a compress fit into the leather opening and are removable.
Somewhere there was a color change for both the grey and tan interiors. Medium Graphite be came Medium Flint, and the Parchment became Medium Pebble. 2002, 2003, 2004 don't remember which year.
Use the drop down on the right to compare the colors.

I think you’re on to something here.
Is the medium parchment and medium pebble identical?
will the 2002 wheel fit exactly the same?
if the above questions are both yes, then there’s my solution but, I need to know for sure. Otherwise it’s an expensive mistake.

No they are not the same color, very close, but hence the different color names.

Click on the Colorbond Link I provided above and compare for yourself.

Check the Ebay listing for a possible pic of the part number, and or contact the seller and ask what the Ford color is. Lastly run the part number by your Ford dealer for verification on what color it is if needed..

I bought a stock wheel on flea bay few years ago. $60 back then. It was the lighter parchment. Colorbond leather paint has held up well when I repainted it to match the darker parchment trim I have. Should be same airbag connection with those cruise control buttons only.

Hello gents....
I did some research and found three upholstery shops who would recover my steering wheel. The shop who did my second row seat quoted $500. No doubt they'd do a great job but taking almost a week is too long. Another shop with 12 reviews, all 5-stars quoted $150-250, and two days to complete. And a third with 110 reviews with all 5-stars quoted $300. Here's links to all three shops. I'm favoring Best Way but wanted to see what you guys thought.

Here are a few other options...tech folder has a few write-ups for the Navigator wheel, and @pirate4x4_camo redid his himself (post 4 on the first link).

I had my steering wheel recovered this week. Was definitely a good investment. I would have been happy with an OEM if I could've found it, but since a new one was no where to be found, I had mine recovered. Notice the difference from OEM, the cover is all one piece. OEM is 4 pcs. And, OEM has baseball stitching, this one is cross stitched. And even though it's not Ford OEM color, it's close enough that no one could tell.
