This is my baby, Harlan.
Hi guys,
So when the time came to actually drop him off for body work, I totally got cold feet and didn't want him fixed according to plan. I found a pair of west coast style mirrors but the bolts are rusted, so that is still in progress. The bumper is getting powdercoated, and the fuel hatch covers are getting replaced instead of going away. I didn't want to mess with the original paint. The trim was pretty old and screwed on, so I got all that pulled off, but the replacement is backordered, so we will be running no trim for awhile. The wheels are a whole other issue! Has anyone actually ordered after market trim and have an opinion? Also, the trim around the tail lights, is that supposed to be screwed on? I am having a lot of fun with this and learning alot. He is a great truck!
Thanks
Rebekah
On the Western Jr. mirrors, they seem to be of high quality stainless, and the rust stains from the steel nuts/bolts polishes right out. I used Simichrome polish on all the parts after getting the rusty bolts/nuts out.
Does this help you with the taillight trim question? I have a utility bed, so I'm not too familiar with what goes on back there. If you are not aware, the Fordification site is wealth of knowledge.

All stainless bolts/nuts including the t bolts. In process of bolting everything on truck, will get a few pics.
Thanks! I believe that's where I ordered my new bolts, but getting the old ones off is the problem, pretty frozen, so they might end up cutting the bolts that attach the mirror to the arms and just replace the mirrors. Or just leave some of the bolts all rusty. It would match the rest of him hahahahaha

Thanks! I'll check out that site. I also realized that the shop manual has quite a few diagrams! Let the fun begin...

If you want new mirrors, I got these from Bud and Tony’s Truck Parts. Look darn near identical to the originals.
The mirror was the Cham Cal 20901. I don’t know if Bud and Tony’s still has them. If you google “Junior West Coast 20901” you get some hits. Looks like these guys have some.
