I'm working on a '79 f150, its been off the road for 25ish years. At some point the booster/master went MIA. The parts book stated this should have the later 79 style booster. I had one from a 78 laying around, so I bought a reman booster added the 78 brackets and slapped it on. Then I went to hook it to the pedal. The 78s apparently have a stud/cotter pin arrangement and the 79 had a shoulder though bolt and neither hole is close to lining up with each other. Anybody know what other years will work for a swing pedal? I have a 74 F250 out on the farm that could donate one if that would work, but it seems like a lot of stuff only fits a couple years.

Unfortunately there are many different pedals , if numbersdummy chimes in he can help with the proper numbers to match what you should have ,,what exactly did you add from the 78 ?
The late 79 had a rod right off the booster to the pedal, the 77-early 79 uses a weird cantilevered design. The 78 booster was shot, so I got a new 78 style one, and used the 78 brackets and cantilever setup.
Unfortunately, you need the pedal that matches the booster. Do you you still have that? My 77 and 78 use the cantilevered system. I have a spare pedal if you cannot find one.
I did have the pedal, but when I was cleaning the accumulated debris out of the truck I took one look at it and said "why would I ever need a spare brake pedal?" and trashed it.
