Hello All! I was driving my truck and the oil light came on and then it died. Checked the oil level and it was good. After the truck cooled off it started back. The light was still on with a slight metal to metal noise and then it died. I figured the oil pump may be bad so started tearing it down to replace it. Ive been fighting this harmonic balance with no luck. The puller i have is the claw style but theres no good grab spot. As i fought this i noticed the hole in the timing cover behind where the tensioner would be. The tensioner itself shows no wear so im sure the owner before me replaced the bad pulley but never covered the hole as it has never leaked. Also its a 2014 6.2 Gas Super Duty

you might be able to rent a puller at your local parts house...autozone, advance, etc.
Hey thanks. I was told after making this post that the claws actually twist in after you set them inside the harmonic balance. Thats why the interior has that "fan" look.
