Today I was attempting to remove a rat/mouse nest from the valley of my engine and decided to remove the turbo pipes and spider intake manifold to be able to access it better. Once I removed the intake i noticed that the wires that go to the connector (with the wire bail) that attaches to the base of the pedestal were bare. Is there a way to purchase a new connector for this? From research I think it is the EBPV solenoid? What is the purpose of this and what make the solenoid activate? Does it stop activating once the engine is warmed up? Could i just paint the bare wires with some of that liquid electrical tape?
Thanks
Helps engine to warm faster in colder temps.
You can leave it unplugged but theres a change that EBPV flapper could shut by itself when unplugged.
The solenoid is proven to start leaking oil from the actuator rod.
You can delete the EBPV flapper and buy a delete pedestal or do DIY solenoid delete, its ok!
I was wondering if it could possibly contribute to why my service engine soon light comes on and goes off under acceleration only when it is cold. The only code is the general IDM code. Maybe i will see if I can tape up the bare wires somehow and see if that fixes it. If it doesnt, I guess I will look at deleting it?
Thanks
