All of the parts should have value - maybe not a high value, but people are looking for them from time to time. The steering column has the shifter 'collar,' and those tend to break after many years of use. And there's also the reverse light switch down at the bottom of the column.
The linkages are exclusive to column shift too.
Three on the trees were very pedestrian stuff back in the old days, and are seldom seen/rare enough now, that I wouldn't want to see any of those parts scrapped.
To quote someone on here, and I can't remember who, "3-in-the-tree is the best anti-theft device ever invented!". I have one - great conversation piece with men "of a certain age".
I had a '77 F100 with the 3 on the tree. I loved it. Only thing I didn't love was when I tried to hotrod, the dang thing would hang or jam going between gears. I was 16 at the time. I parked it behind my mom's house for one week, so I could rebuild my carb in school, she sold it for $100. I lost my *****.
Years later I had a '71 Bronco with a 3 on the tree but was converted to floor shift. This was the most common thing to do with column shifters.
This is my 3 on the tree. I hope to drive this project someday. Yesterday was the fuel pump squirting out the top. The day before was the distributor and vacuum advance sticking. WD freed it right up. I'm getting close, I think, to driving to the gas station after I get a new fuel pump, changing the oil and filter, oil was brand new but won't take a chance on a new motor. Its been a long road with a surprise around every curve. Let's hope their worth something.
Blindwrencher that's an awesome truck. I have a '78 3 speed on the column. If you don't mind, did you restore the bed yourself? If so where did you get the wood rails? I've looked at several places, price ranges from $500 to over $1,000. I've seen a few guys do their own . My metal rails are gone, so I'll probably buy one of those replacement kits.
Very nice truck! Hope you get her going soon!
Thanks. Yes on 302. Brother, who is the original owner gave it to me about this time last year. Had no idea I would still be working on it. Getting close. Its getting old putting gas in this thing from a plastic gas can. It's like breakfast in bed for the garage queen.
Hey Brandon, can't take any credit for the pretty's. This is the way I got it. Brother put a Ford rebuilt short block and clutch, beautiful paint and I can't believe the bed, not a scratch. I keep hitting him up for information but the only thing I get back is (hell it was 20 years ago). He's looking for the receipts when he gets time. Yes he parked it after all the work he had done just driving to air up the tires and figures he put less than a thousand miles in it. With out receipts this is hear say. Pretty is only skin deep. Sure in the hell not complaining. This will all be worth it. Its going to be sweet. Went through the brakes, new fuel tank, new instrument panel, grounds, and I don't know what else. When he finds the receipts, which I'm sure he will, I'll get back with you, I see you're active here, great place for information, I'd still be looking for dash parts if not for Mikeo0o0o0, what a relief.

Brandon,
Have you looked into Mar-K, out of Oklahoma? I purchased the metal straps and bed bolt kit from them. But I did my own wood work for my wooden bed Mar-K Manufacturing
Here is an interesting site to get an Idea of different wood types https://bedwoodandparts.com/visualizer/configure/8236/
