So I was driving the EX today and my little boy was complaining that he was hot so I reached in the back and no cold air coming from the rear vents. So this Is what I know. The front AC is working great. Its 92 degrees out and it was blowing in the lower 50's and I checked my gauges and the pressures seem to be what they should be. I took the rear passenger panel off and checked the Actuator and it moves as it should when going from hot to cold. The rear evaporator has one line that is sweating and cold but the other line has no temperature to it. I have read that the Txv could be bad does that seem like a normal thing to go out?
The TVX is more then likely the issue! How ever, I would think you would see a pressure increase on the side that is at ambient temperature. I had one go out on my house HVAC system and it did the same thing on the lines. If you look on the favorite Rock site you can get one rather inexpensive! As long as the bolts come out of the rear evaporator with out taken threads with them, it should be an easy fix. I had a Cadillac that did that, I ended up having to replace the evaporator. I just put all new a/c items up front on my Ex and have to save up for the one rear line that is leaking! Keep us posted if the TVX is the issue.
