New to me excursion. Heavily oxidized hood with only a few spots of broken thru clear coat. Washed with dawn. Sprayed with iron x. Clay barred. Washed again with dawn. Griots compound with yellow polishing pad (to avoid breaking thru clear coat) with cheapie harbor freight DA polisher. hand applied griots one step sealant. added a second coat this morning. I didn’t take a before photo, but take my word the hood was pretty bad. Only took about 5 hours total. Lol. Slow and steady to avoid further damaging the paint.
EXSwap. Yes just buff around it. after all these years most of our excursions have thin or damaged clear. the best thing to do now, is make sure the paint is very clean prior to buffing. a quality sealant that has UV protection will help minimize future sun damage.
