Turbo

94 F350 with idi and factory turbo.
I finally got it running, but with a lot of hiccups!
At first, it would go into limp mode after 10 minutes of driving. For the heck of it, I let it run for 5 hours at idle. Intermittently, I would jump on accelerator to rev up to 3000 rpm's. After that time, I took for a ride. It wouldn't go over 40mph, but no limp mode action. After several days of this , it finally reached 75 mph. No limp mode either. I drove an entire week no problems. However, I was asked if the turbo kicks in. How would I know? Is it discouraged to drive if it's not working/ will it damage something else if I continue to drive it if turbo is not working?
on another note, where can I find parts? Looking for same grill that has rotted away!
Thanks in advance

If you have a boost gauge that'll tell you if your turbo is working, if you don't have one consider getting one.

FWIW the IDI is completely mechanical, there is no limp mode. If you're having RPM issues you're starving for fuel.

If you have the E4DOA transmission then there's probably a limp mode for that although I can't remember mine ever "limping" when it gave me problems, it just worked like ***.

Limp mode for that engine would be a clogged fuel filter or water in your fuel, If the vehicle sat for over a year = both.W/o a gauge you should feel a delayed push, pushing you back into the seat after you stomp on the fuel. You should be able to hear it whine as it spools up. You should hear it whine on the way down too, if you have non restricted exhaust. If you don't hear it, don't feel bad, I can't either w/o my hearing aids in!! That grill looks like a JC Whitney grill, might check there. You'll have to probably cut it for the lights yourself. Most from JC W are chinese, so expect rust in 2-3 years. I've got an OEM grill for a 93, but it is plastic.
Where are you located?

Yeah, you might want to hit the "Edit" button and eliminate the number.
You can send 264WSM through a private message your info.

I found a grill similar to yours at PNP last summer. Mine has the round
bars where yours are square. I just haven`t installed it yet.
Don`t see them in the yards that often.
