No, cars used the shiny one, trucks had black from the factory. I'm sure the stainless door was a popular dress up item, for the farmers who cared. The black truck doors far predate the Korean war.
Interesting bumper brackets . Maybe home made . Not factory . Looks as though it would fold down on impact . Guess the owner did not want to spring for the added $7.51 rear bumper .
Wow that’s one thing I love about these early fifties trucks that they’re kinda stuck back in the thirties. I’ve heard that those engine compartment lamps are also Leftovers from an earlier Time.

those aren’t the factory bumper frame mounts? Isn’t it just a truck without a rear bumper?

hi! I’d like to buy one of them that’s in good shape if you have one? I’ll give you a good price PM me. Thanks!
that’s a beautiful picture of one! Is it yours? Did you paint and restore it?
No painting / repair needed . That is how I bought it . It was expensive! . Was worth a few extra points at the AACA Winter National show in Miami Fla, Feb 29 2020 . We scored 384 out of 400 . 10 of it was for the incorrect finish on the bed boards . It is supposed to be body color . I don't care as the bed boards also cane from my Grandpa's & Dad's lumber mill . Dad & I milled them in 1970 & am a 3rd gen woodworker . .
