Saturday was a recovery day. We had a prayer meeting/fellowship at a friend's house. They did not deliver the dump truck till after midnight. I spent all day Friday in Canton getting it read and Debra cleaned house all day. Sunday after church we drove up to see mom she doing better. We came home and had friends from church over for dinner.
We are in serious countdown mode for our trip to Tx on the 30th. We need to wash and clean up the truck and camper and dump truck(to get green stuff off Cut the grass and weed eat. Hopefully, get the back bedroom floor nailed down. If we have time may put the tin up in the kitchen. May grind to old floors screws of the dump truck and try and free up the dump valve cable. Not doing anything major on it till we get back.
We have one section of our yard that is sloped really bad, I try to weedeat and mow it down a few times a year to keep it looking nice. It always kicks my butt when I get it taken care of and my legs are still hurting.
It was nice to finally BBQ and hang out for a while around the pool. My wife said be careful of your new camera you'll get it wet. I said wet like this and dunked it in the water, she didn't know it was waterproof.
I lost my cool Thursday at work and threatened to fire all of the mechanics. Sometimes it's like running a daycare instead of a shop because they like to play silly games and act stupid and I had finally had enough of it. I told my boss when he came in what I had said and done, he said I probibly should have done it a lot sooner and should have went about it a different way. They went crying to my him and he said I was bullying them and cussed them out. My boss and the one older mechanic guy that works on the floor stood up for me and said I was right in everything I said. They have a totally different attitude now and things are a lot better, we will see how long that lasts.
With the announcement from the cruise lines yesterday that they wont start again till at least September 15th, it's a pretty sure bet that our cruise has been canceled. Our cruise was supposed to start on September the 14th but I have not heard anything from Carnival yet. Wife doesn't want to cruise anyway if we have to wear a mask the whole time anyway. Looking at going to the beach for a week instead. We still may go to Orlando and Volcano Bay but make it a 3 day weekend.
Must old military *** chewing week. We are ministering and trying to help a young man Friday night gave him one of those one way E6 conversations. You may want to reconsider FL. Tampa and Keys must wear a mask or be fined.
We are leaving next week for a week in Ft Worth with my kids. We are suppose to go to Orlando/DeLand in August to see Debra's son and get the rest of her stuff. If they do the mask crap either we will not go or go get her stuff and come back.
We had talked about a trip to to the Keys at some point. That is questionable now. It may join CA and NY HI on places that will not get any support from me. Same goes for business that say I must. My answer is don't think so, my money my choice.
I got the official email from the cruise line this morning that our cruise was cancelled. I went ahead and asked for a full refund. Plans now are to get new tires for the motorhome and just go to the beach for a week. Still undecided what to do about the hotel reservations we have in Orlando. I may just end up cancelling them too.
I did cancel the Orlando stuff yesterday afternoon, no sense in us trying to go to 2 different parts of Florida in a week. I get 2 weeks of vacation next year so we will just go to Orlando then. I would love to go camping at Ft Wilderness at Disney World again, we had an absolute blast last September. Wife is thinking of homeschooling little man for one year until this virus stuff is hopefully over. I have to remember I need to start planning our vacations around the school schedule.
If I had kids I would homeschool them any way. The schools are not what the use to be they don't teach the indocunate. LGBT, Muslim, and a bunch of other stuff . They do not teach history.
Debra want one day to go to the Keys that will not happen since they are forcing people to wear masks for another year. If Tampa is doing the same thing no Rv supershow for us
That's the good thinking about camping, we can stay in our little area and not have to interact with anyone else. People get too close at the beach, we move. We usually go after the labor day holiday anyway so the crowds are almost nothing by then.
Decided to buy the tire insurance from Good Sam for 2 years, $200 bucks and it covers the tire and the rim in case of a blow out. Any tire on the motorhome no matter the age or where we bought it. Thats a great deal considering it cost us $1300.00 for just that one front tire. Still putting new tires on the front, no way I ever want to blow another front tire again.
TGIF !!
I got the refund from the hotel yesterday, still waiting on the cruise line refund. Once I get that I will work on getting the new tires. Going to pull the motorhome up close to the house and start working on getting it ready for our trip. I have a new kitchen faucet and a sound bar for the front TV to install. I need to research and order a battery switching solenoid too.
Bought the wife a JD yard cart today to pull behind her 4 wheeler. She can use it to help carry the food for her animals and it will be very useful around the property.
I know I'm sick of it raining everyday. I did manage to mow a little grass yesterday after work.
We are supposed to go tubing tomorrow.
We floated Cedar Creek yesterday, I guess it was called tubing in the 80's-90's now it called floating.
On Saturday I installed a VCR/DVD combo in the motorhome, the factory one die on our last trip. Luckily I had one in the house that had the old coax fittings. I also added a sound bar to the front TV which made a world of difference in the sound output.. The front step does not retract in so I need to look at that.
