June 2019 chat

Half the year gone already.
Glad your stepdad is doing ok. Glad you are doing ok. great news on the gas mileage. we were getting ready to leave Cartersville, I hooked the camper up Tuesday night. Went to bed around 12 got up at 4 during that time some low life stole the generator out of the back of the truck. WE talked about we are just going to bring/ have brought the dump truck home. It just too expensive to go up there a couple of days and not get much done. the tires are on and new brake lines on rear. I think it has a bad master cylinder and frozen calipers.

I hate a thief! That's just so wrong.
We have been mowing and weed eating a little each day so we have 99 percent of the property done. I have a few downed limbs I need to take care of but it's not going to be a huge push to try and get stuff done this weekend. Wife is going to visit her mom because I am going into work tomorrow, I got the right heater core in today so I will be working on that. It's the rear one and it's pretty simple. Record sales this week at work! It has really been kicking my butt. They had it all jacked up from the few days I was gone, it took me forever to get it all straightened out. I can't wait for our vacation.

anytime you leave everything gets screwed up. Just keep looking at the day you decided you are done having to work.

I do that already!
I need a special tool to remove the heater hoses off of the rear heater core on the GMC. Didn't know I needed one so I ordered one this morning off of Amazon for $13 bucks and it arrives tomorrow. Was hoping to get it done today but that's not going to happen. We have been pretty busy today at work.

Finally got the heater core replaced in the GMC. I end up draining the AC system and pulling the whole box out. There was no way to put the core in there without bending it all up. Good thing I suppose since the box was full of antifreeze. I pulled it out and then rinsed it out, theen I put the new core in there and got the box back in. Dang it was a pain. I got it all back together and filled with freon!! No leaks and the AC is kicking it too!!

We had a friend from church over for lunch. After lunch I put up on ota antenna we get 30 channels plus what we get on Roku. Every time he comes over to eat he thinks he has to help us do something. The next thing on the project list is the flooring in the back bedroom. So off he goes moving the last of the stuff out of it. He wanted to move the bed I built as one piece. Had to tell him it had to come apart. So a few minutes later I had it apart . He moved all the boards . We laid all the flooring inplace I still have work to do to before we nail it down.

still have work to do before nailing it down

Vacuumed down the GMC AC system again during lunch and refilled it with the correct amount of freon and it is working great. I like using the AC machine at work since I know it has the correct amount of freon now. I ordered the 2 rear actuators today and that will finish up the rear AC and heater issues. It could use some new shocks all the way around but not a priority right now. Going to make a nice replacement for the Suburban.

One of the actuators will arrive tomorrow, the other one next week.
Think I finally have the shop situated again after being gone those few days. I am so ready for my vacation it's not funny.

We had a bad storm roll thru last night at around 11, it was so loud it woke me up.
Wife is getting me a GoPro for fathers day, always wanted one. It's waterproof and I can't wait to use it on our vacation.

Debra has not said anything about Fathers day. She is concerned about my birthday next month, since we will be in Tx and 2 of the kids and all the grandkids are out there.

The caddy place called and the all weather mats came in so picked them up on the way home and installed them. They look good and cover everything.

A guy brought in his honda push mower last Saturday. After looking at it we determined the engine was locked up. I told him what we found and he said file a warranty claim. This guy has called me everyday this week asking about his mower. He even asked if we had a loaner he could use. Honda came back today at around 4 pm and said NOT covered. I waited till right before I left at 6 to call and tell him what they said. He said who do I need to talk to there, I said sir, that's between you and Honda, we have nothing to do with that. It looks like this guy never changed the oil ever and it was real low on oil when he dropped it off. I knew warranty wasn't going to cover it. This will give him all weekend to deal with Honda and leave me alone.

Glad you mentioned oil changes When we get back from Tx got to do it on the tractor, zero-turn, dump truck. I bought a service plan on the side by side need to schedule an appointment had it a year and 1/2 only have 43 hours. The truck Ford is doing them.

Finally got the dumptruck home had it brought down here. Was only 650. If you need a hotshot company let me know will give you his #. Before he picked it up got the bed to dump the pull cable is frozen. Hope pb blaster will free it up. Got a lot of rust to take of. Debra told me when she first saw it she was wondering what I was thinking. Now that it home and she has had a chance to get a good look at she sees what I saw. She has never been around a mechanic that can buy older stuff and fix it. Also a bunch of old 5v tin for the kitchen one wall in the dining room plus some for the solar kiln and maybe roof on the older part of the shop

Mowed grass and other yard work on Saturday. I pressure washed the deck around the pool today and took my son swimming. My back is so sunburned, all the afternoon storms formed south of us so we lucked out. My new gopro is pretty cool, I should get some great footage on our vacation. I asked the wife what she wanted to do as a backup plan just in case they cancel the cruise.
