Any pics of the new bump stops installled, or lessons learned from the installation of them and removal of the old ones?

Just ordered them so probably 2-3 days until I get them. In the middle of an entire front clip swap so hope to have them by the time it is complete.

The original owner of the truck smacked a maple tree at 35mph. The front was pretty twisted. To the point where I had to cut out a large section of the core support in order to pull the fender supports straight. It welded back together nicely.

The determination is right on for tackling a job like this! Reporting from Alabama, that kind of rust makes me cringe a bit because we don't have it lol! Seen ALOT worse tho.

Im about to go the other way with my truck in an attempt to clear 37s but not quite 6" of lift. A friend went that route and there was no 'hold my beer' in that mule wagon!!

The saving grace of this truck is it was originally from Arkansas and spent most of its life in Missouri before coming to Michigan. Luckily the entire cab/front clip is 95% rust free with the exception of the beat up bed and rust scale on the frame.

It is going back together decent. Pretty much impossible to get everything to line up perfect since the front was so tweaked. Also leveled the cab while I was at it. The passenger side had 1" of droop compared to the driver's. Had to shim the entire pass. side cab mounts (minus core support) and the front of the bed to get the body lines straight. Sits level within 1/4" at all corners now.

Thanks, the front end was rough, luckily I have a full donor Excursion.

You can see here how big of a hit the front bumper took. This was before any suspension or front end work right after I got the truck.

Got the new bump stops installed. They mounted up at a very slight angle but seems to be no problem, may go back and adjust them. Their texture is soft and very rubbery. NO JARRING what so ever! We tested them out on some decent bumps and holes on the fire roads. Ranging from 6-8" deep with the deepest wash outs around 10-12". Hitting some 6-8" dips and bumps at around 30mph. No doubt you can feel you are going over some terrain but the in cab transfer is very smooth.

Went with Monroe Gas-Magnum shocks in the rear as well. I like them, very stable and not too stiff.

Looks good! Did you mount the new bumpstops using only 1 hole from the old bumpstop mounting location?

Yes. The stock bump stop had 2 bolts but there is a single hole underneath it as well. Think I ended up using the forward most hole.

How are you feeling about the U-codes after a few month?

I would like to do a shackle/drop bracket lift and replace my springs also, don't want to have too soft but also wouldn't mind softening it up a bit.

The U-codes are still doing great. They work the best if they are paired with a good bump stop.

How did you move the axle forward 1”?

New centering pin holes???

At 1.5” forward, is anything getting close to binding, etc? (Track bar, drag link, etc)
