I'm looking at the unit from PlugNPlayKits as well. Looks similar to the 12Vsolutions one, but he also offers one that is purely a cell app addon to the factory remote start. just over 300 bucks. 15 minute install. I've got to call him - maybe tomorrow and ask some more questions to make sure it truly is what I think it is.

I just ordered their remote start kit with cellular, basically the same thing as Remote Access, runs on TMO for $39/yr with the first year free. Stellar reviews, and they claim the installation is full plug and play. Hopefully will get here soon so I can give it a crack.

Get it and install it yet? Does it do the trick?

12volt.solutions doesn't offer a solution for pushbutton start vehicles. Does anyone make a compatible RMU to replace the RMU (DL3Z-19A390-B) that came with my Remote Access kit? Seems like the cellular portion would be an easy replacement since it's just communicating with the VSS module. Can't believe someone isn't offering an updated plug-n-play RMU running on 4G. I mean they're VOXX parts after all. Would think it's doable. Just take out the old RMU and plug in a new one.

Just spoke with a Compustar dealer in town and he said we'd have to ditch the Remote Start unit as well as the ford security add on.
We'd have to add Compustar's add-on alarm and their App-based Drone module.
This should retain factory key fobs, add an alarm, add phone access for lock/unlock, remote start, alarm activations (Hopefully)
He's going to make a call and get back to me.

This is what I've been told as well. I was quoted about $550 installed plus monthly costs. I still have the OEM remote start module sitting in a box in my shop that'll start the truck with the keyfob.

Really torn between just installing that and losing the phone controls (but it's free to me) or paying the $550 plus monthly service charge when I am hoping to replace the truck around this time next year...

So I've got the OEM remote start, and pushbutton start. I've got PlugNPlayKits $320 cell phone addon sitting on the counter. Should be able to get it installed this weekend. Looks like it's may be 15 minutes worth of install. I'll report back.

When I heard RemoteAccess was going away at the end of the year I bought the kit from 12voltsolutions. Plug and play just like RemoteAccess. I bought the Lock-Unlock-Lock version and added the cellular app module add-on. Originally $439.99 but they happened to be running a special at the time RemoteAccess emails went out so I got it for $374 shipped!

It's been installed for exactly 2 months and it works great! Their customer service is excellent! They know their product inside and out.

It works off T-Mobile 4G so as long as you are in their coverage area you'll be fine. The layout of the app is nice. My ONLY negative thing I can say is you can only set the remote start time to 15 minutes. With RemoteAccess I was able to do 30 minutes. Hasn't been an issue yet and I probably never needed 30 minutes but it irks me that I can't go it with 12Vsolutions.

Also, you get the first year free for the app module! I couldn't wait until my RemoteAccess ran out. I installed this the day it arrived.

Oh and maybe the best part of all, it has Apple Watch functionality! You can start, lock, and unlock from your watch.

Edit to add: it also has GPS and shows current location of your truck

Did you connect your parking light, lock and unlock wires? If so, did you have to run them to the BCM at the passenger side kick panel?

There's only two connections that need made to the truck.
1. Plug main kit in behind OBDII port.
2. Unplug headlight harness from headlight switch and plug the harness in inline with provided T harness. Nothing gets plugged into BCM

This pic is the headlight harness. It's all pretty simple. Honestly the hardest part is zip tying the main unit up behind the dash to secure it

Can you lock and unlock your truck from the phone app? Thanks!

Any update on the PlugNPlayKits installation? Do you need to remove the security module or can it stay installed?

Thanks!

I am in the same boat. I have the Ford Remote Access (soon to be shut down) and have bought the PlugNPlay Kit. Have you done the switch over yet? I tried last night but haven't had any success yet. I totally removed the Ford Access RMU and VSS modules and harnesses so its back to factory stuff.

On my attempt last night I first removed everything and then installed the PnP Kit, no go. After tons of trying I put the VSS back in and tried to get the PnP kit to program in, no go. So then I added back in the RMU unit, still no go. I am going to get this one way or the other.

So the PnP Kit is a "non-starter" then?

Pardon the pun...
