Hi Guys, I just purchased my first truck today. It's a 1970 F100 with a 360 and a 4 speed. I'm in love with it, except it does have a few issues that need to be fixed. One of the first is with the throttle.
The gas pedal rests only about an inch off the floor, and the only movement I have from idle to full throttle is within that one inch. I knew this was out of place so I looked under the hood and sure enough the bottom of the trapeze in part #7A185 is broken in half. Now it looks like a fairly simple fix, two bolts and I have the unit off. But I've been searching the internet for the past 3 hours with no results on a replacement part 7A185. Could you guys help me out?
I think they can be purchased. I repaired mine with some welds. built up the shafts where they were worn. good as new. Or remove it and just connect carb to pedal.
Thanks so much for the reply's! I was able to find a local place that had one for sale that I picked up. Installed it and with some tuning I'm running good! Farther down the line I might swap to a straight connection though as recommended.
