stupid question, i picked up a 5.8 fuel injected and all, was told its a 93. but, it doesnt have the tube coming off the exhaust into the intake, as well as a few other diferences. no number plate or casting numbers i can find, how do i tell what year is it, and can drop it in and go, or do i have to swap parts over to use my factory ecm?
going on a 93 bronco, 5.8

I can see that there is an egr delete mod done.
I also see that the front of the passenger side exhaust manifold has a plug in it.
There would have been a pipe going from the exh manifold straight up and going to the egr valve, not the intake.
Look at the stamped number just above the starter, If it is stamped F4 it is an 94 - 97 block.
If it isn't an F4, it is likely a 93 or earlier.
I am also seeing the side mount 3G alternator, which started in 93 in the trucks.
I think the seller was correct when he told you 1993.
yea, looking at it more after i hsd time when i got home, i saw the delete plugs, found the casting numbers, etc. seems to be a 93 or 94 5.8. bought it from dad for the block setup as mines getting tired. dad was gonna graft it and the tranny into a 1947 dodge 1 ton flatbed at one point, ended up going with a bb dodge v/8, so i scored this at a smoking deal.
thanks for the id help, will do the swap after i get my van going, so im not rushed to get a daily driver going.
