I am trying to sell my F100 and noticed the other day that at times when giving the truck throttle there is a small drip of fuel from the front of carb hitting the manifold....it appears to evaporate right away but am wondering just how dangerous this is? The only driving it will get is a very short test drive here and there....I have
attached a pic showing the area where the drip comes from.
Flammable gas on a hot motor how dangerous do you think it is?
If you did not guess it is VARY DANGEROUS
That part is the accel pump and a new one comes in a rebuild kit.
Get it changed out ASAP!

Is there a temporary fix for it? like some gasket maker or something? I am wanting to sell the truck quickly and I am not even sure which carb this is to buy a rebuild kit for...it is not original I know.
No temp fix, only way is to replace the rubber part behind the 4 screws.
I would not wait to fix it. The next time you start it or a buyer takes it for a test drive could be the last as it sits on fire in the middle of the road.
Is there a metal tag under 1 of the top screws?
Maybe a picture of the carb someone may know but that part looks like a Motorcraft 2100 / 2150 v2 carb would work but I don't know for sure.
Dave ----
ps a rebuild kit is cheap maybe $20 - $30 at most.

I will check that tomorrow...it is storming bad at the moment here
Don't know if they still do but they used to sell the accelerator pump separately. This was a common problem and it kept you from having to buy a complete rebuild kit.
EDIT:
They still do. $3.99 at Advanced Auto https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...B&gclsrc=aw.ds
It'll be the best four bucks you ever spent... you won't burn your truck to the ground.
2 Xs with Mike. Take the diaphragm off and go to a NAPA store I am sure they will have the part. Also try PEP Boys I remember seeing the repair kit in the carburetor section. It is the same one on a Holley.
well it is not safe. Think of a school bus and your truckmeeting at an intersection..... KAAAABOOOOOM! Not worth it. If you choose to repair it is probably an easier repair than a light bulb. I have one that does that and it is a welding truck. It doesn't move or run just has torch, welder, compressor, and tools. I plan to fix it before it hits the road. If you choose not to fix it, I would not allow it on any public road until repaired, weather I owned it or not.
Ya another way to look at this is you have a fuel leak next to an item (the distributor) that is designed to ignite gasoline... A stray arc from an ignition wire and instant fire. There is a reason Ford went to all-steel fuel line from the pump to the carb in later units.
