65 wiper

My 65 wiper has the excessive travel on the Driver side as is common on some trucks. Some guys are suggesting to replace the whole system with new parts , not used. Does anyone know which part goes bad since its usually the driver side that hangs up ?

I believe that there is an adjustment in the wiper motor for travel???...however, I could be wrong. The other option is simply to remove and reinstall the driver's side wiper arm to the position that's correct. In either case, I doubt that replacing all with new parts is necessary....I think you can simply fix what you have.

There is a bushing at each end of the link between the wiper motor and the wiper pivot that passes through the cowl. The bushing has a rubber like center; maybe check those for slop. Also check that the nut on the outside of the cowl that secures the wiper pivot is not loose. There is a park adjustment that can be made by removing the cover of the wiper motor, but that is unlikely to fix excessive wiper travel on one side.
