Weigh Safe 3” is rated at 21k, and will tell you the tonque weight. Available with up to a 10” drop, that is what I put on my F350 Which gives me 9” of ground clearance in the rear, 11” is what most call for, but I have one cargo trailer that needs a very low ball.
you will get "bucking" with too much tougue weight or too little tongue weight. I like alot of tongue weight. With my tractor, grapple and bucket I am at between 1800 and 2200lbs it pulls the best there but any more than 2000lbs it starts to buck a little bit. I like between 12 and 15 percent of trailer weight on the tougue. And yes I have access to a crane scale and the weights are accurate.. So like was stated both the weight and the trailer being level are extremely important. I also run a bulletproof 6" heavy duty adjustable drop, rise hitch. It weighs over 60+ pounds and I have no fear of failure. NEVER have I used a W/D hitch but set a few up.if a wd hitch is needed you either need to load the trailer different or get a bigger Truck! Cj
Be careful with the “adjustable” drops, they can be de-rated. A solid adapter will have greater capacity. Just know what you tow...
Good point. The good adjustable hitches will most likely exceed the truck and reciever ratings on most short box F250/F350 srw. I have a Weigh Safe adjustable aluminum ball mount in a 2.5" shank. It's rated at 2200lb tongue weight and 18000lb gtw with the 2-5/16" ball. The 3" version has a 21k lb rating. That might not meet or exceed capacity for a DRW 350/450, but the OP's Tremor is rated at 15k conventional tow capacity.
