I have a 2008 Navigator that the brake light stays on. I have replaced the reservoir and sensor along with the emergency brake light switch but the light still stays on. Anybody got any suggestions. Thank you for your reply.
Are you talking about the BRAKE light in the cluster? There's a common failure in the driver circuit in the cluster itself that causes the issue. Forum sponsor Circuit Board Medics can repair it.
We do repair several instrument clusters for that particular issue. In this case, this is not a cluster we usually see this particular failure with. After looking at the wiring diagrams, it seems that both the parking brake switch and brake fluid level switch both are sending signals directly to the Smart Junction Box then the SJB is communicating with the cluster over CAN lines (on the other clusters we repair these are both direct inputs to the cluster), so without more troubleshooting it would be hard for me to determine if it is likely the cluster or not. The easiest thing to do would be to hook up a scan tool and see if that information is being communicated properly. If it is being communicated properly, then it is likely an issue with the cluster. Feel free to message us if you have any questions we can help with.
