Thanks for sharing!

I'd never buy anything Harbor Freight safety related but for those who have this is very important; reps sent!

If any body has gotten replacement stands from HF, there has been a report of the welds failing on the replacement ones. HF "is investigating"

That bit of info just reinforces my original thoughts I'll NOT buy anything from HF safety related.

Thanks for sharing!

In another review Torin was mentioned to be "the best" stand but, under "cons" the welds might break Everything that's posted on the net must be true

I've got some Hein-Werner stands (among others) that have worked well for years. Most of the good stands are pricey but it's very hard to put a price on your life,

Then again I'm from the era when bumper jacks were used out in the alley to lift and support a vehicle for brake jobs etc etc. I once swapped a transmission and rear axle with one such jack in the center of the rear bumper, I crawled under my '56 Ford for 2 winter days and it held wonderfully.

Ahh the ignorance of youth huh? These days don't change a tire without a HumVee jack (6 ton rated) and jack stand .

Yes you and I are from the very same era, I don't know how many starters I've changed under cars on a bumper jack. Brake jobs sitting on a bumper jack, sure thing. For doing ball joints and tie rods stick a cinder block under it and go for it.

My dad and I put new springs and shocks under the back of his 56 Coronet when I was a kid and all we had was a bumper jack.

First time I ever used a set of jack stands we were changing the engine on my brothers Bug.
