replacing small tires

Hi,
I've replaced a few garden tractor tires, but I'm looking for a kind of tool.

I have in the past used just an old belt to help when I air them up to set the bead. Bu, my old belt broke -- and it was never that easy to use.

I'd appreciate any suggestions for something that works good.

Thanks,

hj

I don't know how you were using the belt or even what type of belt it was, fan belt or pants belt?
I have used rope in the past. Run it around the tire cross it at the top run a long bar over the crossed part and cross it again.
Kind of making a tourniquet with the rope & bar, turn the bar to tighten the rope and pop the beads out.
Make sure the beads are well lubed up.

Get yourself a bead seater and never look back. Been using them for years and its the only way to go. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Steel-Co...RoCXLwQAvD_BwE

If you're the adventurous type, starting ether works.

Thanks guys - ratchet strap sounds like a winner -- I only do this once every year or so.

I've seen the ether trick on Restoration Garage -- maybe more fun than I want to have

I've used the ratchet strap multiple times on different sized tires. Sometimes its a balancing act to find the right tension to get the bead to hold, but not too much air where you can't get the strap to loosen up.

Where did you get your tire spoons and what size were they?
