2000 Excursion - No Trailer Lights

Hello,

I have searched through a variety of different threads regarding my issue, but I still have not figured it out. I am not getting tail lights or turn signals out back.

I have replaced Fuse 13 (20A - Stop Lamps, Center High-mount Stop Lamp/Hazard, Trailer Tow Stop Lamp, Speed Control) on the passenger compartment fuse panel (interior under dash).

I have replaced Fuses 4 (20A - Trailer Tow Backup Lamps, Trailer Tow Park Lamps), 20 (7.5A - Trailer Tow Stop /Turn LH), 22 (7.5A - Trailer Tow Stop /Turn RH) on the power distribution box (under hood).

I have the tow package and have also replaced both relays underhood that are near the ESOF relays.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram/schematic or some advice on where to check next?

I am going to leave this thread up in case someone searches while trying to diagnose.

The final connection point at the rear of the vehicle that mates to the 7 pin plug was not seated all of the way. I thought I checked this initially, but apparently the connection fooled me. It looked seated, but a quick tug proved otherwise. I jammed it in and we are all set.

Great that it turned out to be an easy fix.

They also rot out as well...rust. I just trimmed mine back to some good copper and re-soldered everything. Worked like a champ.

Glad you found it... I had an issue with the plug where it connects to the back of the trailer connector. I was tracking down a missing tail/turn on 1 side when I saw the wiring/plug connected to the female plug you see when flipping up the cap. (weird and seems like an extra/unnecessary use of parts) But I removed the trailer connector from the metal housing. Then pulled the wiring plug out of it and cleaned everything. I also used lots of dielectric grease when putting everything back in place.
