I have a 79 F250 and the doors are sagging because the bushing for the hinge pins are badly worn. The lower drivers side is worst but they could all use some help. LMC sells new hinges for $50 each, which seems silly when all they need is new bushings. The repair kits I find all list 1980 and newer Ford pickups. Dorman says they have none listed for any 70f's pick ups. Auto parts store also claims they have none listed to fit. I know there has to be one that will work I just don't want to find it by trial and error. Anyone use a kit that worked? Anyone with a spare hinge who could measure the size of the hole I would appreciate it.
x2 on Bronco Graveyard, I tried several kits and these ones worked.
If it's bad enough it wore through the bushing and into the hinge you'll either have to replace the hinge or weld up the wear. the bushing has to be firmly supported by steel .
I wouldn't by repop hinges I'd assume they're as crumby as the repop sheet metal.
A word of caution on replacing hinges: try to avoid it if at all possible. I broke 2 out of 3 bolts on the jamb side when changing mine. That turned a 1/2 hour job into a 3 1/2 hour job and it sucks. Wish I would have done just bushings and pins. But I had a hinge, so it made sense at the time.
