Which bulbs for third brake light ?

I had multiple melting problems with my third brake/cargo light. Heres what I found
These specs are for Sylvania bulbs which seem to be the most common at the big box auto stores
921 bulbs are 17.9 watts and melted both the housing and the sockets on my light. Way to hot.
912 bulbs are 12.8 watts. They worked but still were a little hotter than I liked
922 bulbs are 12.5 watts and have not melted my new sockets or housing. They seem to be the sweet spot.
I got a brand new housing and sockets from Jeffs bronco graveyard. The new housing has ventilation holes above the bulbs to allow the heat to escape the housing. A better design than the original Ford part in my opinion.
