Does anyone know how the factory subwoofer comes out froma '98 expedition? I removed the panel and the 8 screws, but it still stays in. Is there a bolt in the rear of the woofer or is that just a very strong magnet?
send me your e-mail through the forum and I will get you step by step instructions. It is not too hard to do even if you are a novice.
Would you possibly have the instructions on how to remove it from a 1997 Expediton also. I have it almost completely removed but it won't come out of the panel.
Take a look at the link below. Its the manual (PDF version) for the MTX Thunderform subwoofer enclosure. It includes full instructions with pictures on how to remove the factory sub. Good Luck!
On the 01 Navigator/Expedition you have to remove the sub enclosure to get the sub out. Reason being is that there is a bolt in the back that holds the speaker to the enclosure along with the eight in the front. I have the factory manual so it went pretty good knowing what all I had to remove just to get the enclosure out.
