Help with code 64

64 Intake Air Temperature (IAT) or Vane Air Temperature (VAT) signal low or grounded - IAT VAT
I just ran KOEO codes and all clear CM clear KOER I'm only getting code 64. I have no symptoms and no cel, Without symptoms what would I check first to fix this code? Thanks Sandy

IAT sensor on SD 460 is in the intake manifold on the left side just in front of the TB adaptor. You should check it with an ohm meter. Consult your service manual for the correct spec.

Thank you. Mine is carbon coated to the max. The sensor is coated also and was leaning on a prong. . I'm going to replace it. Sandy

this one shows what resistance and voltage should be, when its cold and when it warms up, to see if its in range.

Thanks for the link torq'ta, that is the one I didn't have in my folder and I couldn't find it. Anyway it was toast and I replaced it today and code is clear and truck is running great. It only lasted 29 years so they just don't make em like they used to.
