What do you folks use to reattach a plastic door panel? I pried mine off to fix the door handle linkage, amazed at the white glue stuff the factory glued the door panel on with. When it goes back on I'm not sure if I want to use Liquid Nails construction adhesive? Will a latex or Si caulk have enough adhesive grip? 2 face tape? Thanks, Dave
they were never glued from the factory...either metal or plastic clips around the edges of the door panel, depending on the year...you may notice some broken slots in your doorpanel....

X2. Sounds like a PO tried to fix a loose/squeaky panel the Macgyver way. And, like dlburch said, they're noted for cracking around the slots that hold the retainers.
If you can post a pic of the backside of your door panel. It was glued on either because clips were broke, lost, but most likely the plastic broke away that holds the clip. If using adhesive to go back on, Permatex makes a silicone adhesive Similar to the gasket maker only it’s specifically made for adhesion. It’s pliable enough that when it comes time to remove the panel it shouldn’t be too bad. Just don’t go hog wild and use too much
OK thanks guys, if you all know the factory didn't glue them I assume it was PO (or a body shop) in the past. It's a '76 F-250. There's a metric ton of white caulk stuff, quite hard/thick/dense with a teeny bit of pliability left to it. I'll have to glue or 2 side tape it back on since I'll never get all the white gunk off.
That Permatex idea sounds like what I was looking for, thanks!
