Just noticed we are almost neihbors, are you saying there is no worries of buying a 100,000 mile powerstroke, are the 2000's alot better than the earliers?
i would prefer a 2000 over the older ones... more power, intercooler. Better injectores. My parents just bought a 2000. I wouldnt worry about a 100,000 mile powerstroke. Just check out the vitals before you buy. baz's site
this place is a wealth of information
Blownaway I won't lie to you, when you say diesel you should think money. They are spendy when they break or need maintenace. But they "can" run a long long time if taken care of. Yes injectors can and do fail and they cost about 150-400 depending on type and such. Cam posision senors fail with out warning and are about 120 bucks at Ford. But it is a tried and tested engine that will go a long long time. I'd buy another 100,000 PSD anytime.
Hey Highway Prisoner, what do you do with that truck that makes you drive it so much?
MY 99 PS has 70k on it and i was concerned about its life and if at 100k it would require major work or die as some other gas engines I have had in the past. I am amazed at all of your stories, thanks for the info, this truck is a keeper for sure.
I have a 00' with 115000 miles and she is as good as the day i took her off the lot. I keep routine maintenance up and monitor fluid and oil levels regulary. I average about 200+ miles a day and she has never given me a bit of trouble .
I really have a hard time believing anything them guys have said over there other than the fact that they have a few so so good artist that are really good at doctoring the same photo. They had ended up producing one with a extra digit, and the other one with 9XX,XXX. Come on there's barely enough time to stop for fuel. And of course the original photo, the first digit the "5" looks doctored to me.
Bottom left corner seems to have had something cut off and the bottem right corner seems to be a bit whiter than the rest of the 5.
