I couldn’t find a fuel pump in stock so I ordered a rebuild kit off of Amazon but delivered from Macs Auto. The picture on Amazon clearly shows the two internal valves in the picture but when I received it today I only got the diaphragm and bowl seals. I went back and looked at Mac’s website and their kit does not include the valves. The Amazon kit was a little more but I thought it was worth it with more parts.
The pump was sitting for over 20 years so I’d like to replace as many parts as I need. Are valves usually needed to be replaced? Is there a way to test them prior to reassembly? If I open the plastic, I can’t return it
That's a great link. I've read when rebuilding a fuel pump - installing a new diaphragm - is kind of tricky for the DIYer. Is it a show stopper or not too bad? Special tools needed? About how many beers does it take would you say?
