Spoiled in that I purchased a Lincoln floor jack in the late '70s and I have used and abused it over these past decades and as soon as the project is completed I hope to recondition. I am using the Lincoln while awaiting part and in the meantime, I would like to purchase a quality floor jack so I can work on other projects and interested in members' suggestions and/or recommendations! My work area is not level nor on asphalt or pavement so I am looking into a quality jack.
if you have the $ AFF is today the best for the $, but if looking at the lower end units...HF Daytona is good and I'm betting it's built on the same Chinese production line as most of the commercial jacks... the 3 tone pittsburg IMHO is a good one as well..... I have a 3 ton Torin professional I bought 20 years ago, it's still going.... it's not a smooth as a true professional jack (like AFF) but it works and parts are readily available...I just now had to replace the handle spring (it keeps the handle from falling flat on the floor from an upright position).. got a new spring, was $6 including shipping from a supplier just west of Los Angeles.
FYI- Torin is based in Ontario, CA.. although it's all Chinese built)
Look into Hein-Werner if you want some of the best stuff out there---the Lincoln jacks were considered top line at one time. Of course with every once-great brand name you have to be careful to choose the products made here in the USA.
Ran a search on 'Lincoln Floor Jacks': Hein-Warner is the new name of the Lincoln line. When Lincoln sold off the line in the late '90s a Chinese company took over which includes 'Blackhawk'. Review item description indicated Blackhawk is manufactured in china, whereas; Hein-Werner is assembled in the USA??
Must admit the Hein-Werner jacks are impressive however I probly pay too much attention to customer reviews but for the price, I would expect better, I will take a look at reasons for the comments before making a decision but also look for a local supplier. .
I do not believe it matters since it appears a majority of floor jacks are imported and/or assembled in the USA? I am looking to purchasing from local suppliers in the event there is a problem with the jack: NAPA offers an impressive jack with a 2-year warranty although there are several disclaimers that can be intimidating. Then there's Harbor Freight and admittedly the Daytona appears and Pittsburg appear heavy duty but they only offer a 90-day warranty? Kinda hesitant shopping with HF I have a list of items to include the tool cabinets.
Anyhow, what a dilemma, need to take a look at them, I appreciate U'alls comments and still interested in further suggestions.
Thank you!!.

I buy windshields made in Upper Sandusky OH but carry the same label "assembled in the USA." When I asked why not made in USA? Glass is made in the USA, its processed into windshields right there in the plant BUT the inner liner making them DOT-legal comes from China or elsewhere. It would be illegal to claim its made here which seems to imply its all American content.
FWIW I buy nothing but Milwaukee cordless tools and they're all made in China etc etc. They seem to be well made and are not too different from the USA-made versions I've had occasion to open and DIY repair. I hate they're NOT made here but as long as they're built to Milwaukee's standards and carry a 5 year tool warranty I don't have much choice but to buy/use that brand.
Anyway best of luck in your search---please let us know what you finally choose.
I can probly count the number of household and tool purchases I have made that were made in the USA on 1 finger, not to mention automotive replacement parts. I am a tool junky and over the years has purchased new and used tools of just about every make and model keeping in mind IMHO they are all reputable and maintain quality oversight and customer support.
Found a few early model floor jacks on Ebay but unfortunately, they were all 'local pick up' to include a Lincoln just not up to traveling 700 miles round trip, for those who reside in SoCal, Los Angeles area may want to take a look?
I am still looking and likely once I make a decision contact a hydraulic repair shop and check on the availability of replacement parts and whether the shop would make any repairs?

You should really check out AFF … this is what the majority of tire shops use and they are 100% made in the US...
Very impressive floor jack checked AFF link and appears their sales representative is located in Oregon, I will call Monday for additional information regarding the nearest distributor, service center, and prices. If I can find a distributor and service shop that is within a reasonable distance I certainly would be interested otherwise if I should have a problem with the equipment within the 1-year warranty I do not want to pay the cost of boxing and shipping for repairs.
