Lowering Question

First I’m looking for a sheet of metal that is the same as the sheet metal in the bed of my truck so I can make a notch for the diff. Let me know if you know what I can do about that or where I can find the sheet metal. Next I was wondering if there would be any consequences to flipping the main leafs on the front end to drop the truck a few inches. It’s not amount of travel that I’m worried about but it is the ride quality and steering. Because the bushing on the back of the leaf is bigger than the one up front I am afraid that it will change the angle of the Front axle and cause some steering issues. Any insight is appreciated.

I would go with reverse eye leafs instead of flipping, just seems saver. I have them on my 63 with six of the original leafs and it lowered it several inch's. Or search out the posts on putting the axle on top of the leafs.

did you get the spring re-arched when you flipped the eyes or did you just bolt all the springs together as is?

No, I bought them new. And just used the old originals with it.
