I want to install a Transmission Dipstick on my '19 F250 6.2. I'm sure it has been talked about here but I can't find any conversations, nor can I find info on finding an aftermarket unit. A few out there for F150, but don't see any for Superduty. Any help guys?
I searched 6r100 dipstick and a bunch of threads appeared. Below is the first on the list. In the thread it states that parts listed from a 17 my truck won't fit but it doesn't state why not.

Yeah, bummer. I don't know why the one for the f150 wouldn't work. Same cab and I thought the 6r100 was a beefed up 6r80. The only diff would be how the different motors fit in engine compartment. Damm things are too $ to just buy one to see if it works. $200 plus.

I didn't look at the part #s source vehicle. Are they for a F150? My '17 has a dipstick and a drain plug in the pan. I just assumed that whoever researched the numbers did so for a '17-'18 F250. I've not yet seen the '19+ 6R100 mini dipstick, but if the transmission casting wasn't changed, I wonder why '17-'18 parts wouldn't work.

Call me old school, but why wouldn't I want to easily be able to check the trans fluid level? With all of the postings about things that are overlooked during manufacture and during dealer PDI and service I don't get why I wouldn't want to be able to easily check the trans fluid level. The check procedure for the mini dipstick looks to be a PITA if you don't have a 4 post lift.
I do all my own maintenance because I don't trust anyone else to do it. The dealers hire young "air heads" to do the minor things like fluid changes and I personally know of a few crooks in the independent shops. My 2019 dipstick is about 3" from the very hot catalytic converter...stupid, tough even for a Pro to check. Also you need to fill it though the same port. I'm Ford Trucks all in, but this move is ridiculous. I am also going to install a Pan that has a drain plug.
One reason if you ever get a leak while on the road. I had a Chevy while I was making a delivery I saw fluid dripping on the ground. It was a slow line leak but I had no idea how long it had been leaking. Pulled out the stick could not find any fluid on the stick. Stopped by a parts store and dumped some Dex VI in until full on stick and limped home. Without the stick would be clueless how much to add. It's also good for peace of mind to pull the stick occasionally and check levels, view oil condition. Call me old school as well but I'm glad my 18 has the dipstick.
