I just found an existing grommet near the master cylinder to run wiring.

is that easy to find inside the cab
The temp in the dash works
and it never went up over a third
But i still want the exact temp reading from the trans temp gauge
It's pretty awful to be honest. The only way I was able to find it from the inside of the cab is by running a leader wire through the grommet first from the engine side. Like a 1/16" metal wire and see where it comes thru from the interior. I'm usually working by myself, so it would be easier if I had a helper.

Wiring in my trans temp
and was thinking of tapping in here
That's where I stole power from when I did mine on one of my other trucks.
If you don't already know the pressure test port, which is where I put my sensor is 1/8" npt, the sensor for my gauge was that size and screwed right in!
I just grabbed power off the Warning Chime connector as it was easy to plug a male spade in it and no one wants the chime any way
My 89 is an xlt lariat, which is kind of annoying because there's no extra key on slots in the fuse box like my 85 which is a base. I'll take a look and see if I can find this door chime plug...
well
i guess wrangling the OE dipstick tube in place to mount to the engine was a terrible idea
as now the glue around the lower tube where it enters the trans case is broken away and its leaking
Anyone know whats used to seal that?
ive tried searching and google keeps trying to show me the oring for the upper to lower
