My LED replacement thread

I finally put in my red VLEDs replacement 3157 LEDs in truck today. As I write this, I am waiting for it to get dark out so I can see the LEDs better. These VLEDs kits come with a spacer that allows you to put the spacer on which brings the LED bulb further back into the housing. So I put the spacer on the left and the right has no spacer. I ordered the plug and play resistor kit for these. To get you guys started, I will link to my LED thread here which I did in the Super Duty section. That section gets WAYYY too many threads that just get a few responses and die. I now know better. For threads like these, I'll come here. I'm not saying that threads don't get traction there, just too many IMO.

When I first got them... in zee box.

The spacer is on my finger. It's aluminum and nicely machined.

This is the resistor kit which is extra. It's totally plug and play which you will see later.

This is the resistor. These are quality parts.

They say this is high temp double sided tape on the back. Hopefully...

The plug that is on the resistor.

The adapter. Red goes to the resistor, black goes .... Having a brain fart here. I'll edit once I get back out there and decide how I want to run these...with or without the spacers. The bottom goes to the OEM connector adapter.

See you guys in awhile.

This shows the connections. The red nut connection goes to the resistor.

This is what the bulb looks like without the spacer. My son agreed, that the bulbs were brighter with the spacers on. So that's the way I went.

With spacer on, screws mounted in the collar and ready to mount.

Power on and LED is lit. They are polarity specific so if you buy them and they don't light up, just flip the OEM connector adapter 180 degrees and you'll be good to go.

The resistor shows up better here...

I put the heat shrink on and it had glue in it. Good stuff. I ended up putting electrical tape on the end there on both sides.

Running lights.

Running again...

These things have to be seen to be believed. They are insanely bright...

It's just amazing how much redder in color they are than the OEM incandescent bulbs and brighter.

Lighting up the house in deep red...

One more with brake lights...

here's the Triton section of vleds.com. There's currently a 20% off sale going on. I bought mine before Xmas and they were having a 25% off sale then.

There's two different types of Tritons. The regular pair for $125 and the Extremes for $175 a pair which I HAVE.

Here's the regular type.

Here's the Extremes ...

Here's the parts page:

https://www.vleds.com/shop-products/...ton/parts.html

Check them out. I also bought a pair of the Extreme Amber 3157 for the front but have not installed them. When I installed the red LEDs, I put silicone grease on everything. Might as well, they provide it. One packet was enough for both sides. Still have one packet left.

Hey, if I can help point the way so members can spend more money, why not... Besides we have an economy to support right?

EDIT

This is the last photo I took to show that the pics taken with the brakes on literally almost block out the sky looking west. The day pic was taken in the morning the next day before leaving for work.
