Stumpy's Stumped

Ok so, my daily driver is a '93 3/4 ton F-250 and has a 4.9L 300i straight 6 in it that is about to give out on me. I just recently bought a '89 F-150 from a friend that needed a little help. Anyway it has a 5.0L V8 in it. Now both 89 5.0 and 93 4.9 motors are both EFI, my question is has anybody ever attempted to swap the 4.9 for the 5.0 and what do I need to do to do it and how hard is this gonna be since I'm already kinda half way through this swap lol.

Your biggest challenge is the wiring harness on the '89 will not plug into the '93. You will also need to put the motor mount perches from the 302 into the 300 truck.

Ok so is it possible to splice the plug from the 93 to the 89 harness? I mean would the colors of wires match land go to the correc5 terminal? Or would it be better to install the entire 89 harness into the 93?

My recommendation would be to obtain an engine harness from a 92-96 302 truck.

The 80's wire harnesses are pretty different. If you have unlimited time and enjoy pain, then by all means splice them together. Probably half the colors match and the other half are probably opposite.

Just swap the harnesses.
