RockAuto Question

Does RockAuto have a customer service number? I want to order a part but I'm not sure if it will work in my unit. I'd like to speak with someone knowledgeable at RockAuto who can reassure me that the part fits. I couldn't find a cust. serv. number on the web site.

The reason for my concern is that I bought a wiper switch with the interval feature. My '90 F150 only has 2 speeds. After reading here on the forum that all I need to do was replace the switch, I ordered one from RockAuto.com. It came and I put it aside and forgot about it. When I finally remembered and tried to install it, it didn't work, but I was past the 90 day return window. My fault so no complaint, but I'm a bit more careful now.

Can anyone tell me how to deal with this with RockAuto? I would much prefer to buy from out sponsor, but I need to be sure I'm getting the right part.

TIA
rh

RockAuto seems to have abandoned live people speaking with customers in nearly every step of their process. Other uses have reported huge issues with them should a problem arise, its all handled through emails now. Additionally I hate speaking to someone I don't know or what real-life experience they have when I'm seeking something specific like your wiper switch.

Yes I too prefer supporting the FTE sponsors for in your instance you're better advised talking with an older person at NAPA or even the dealership, Might not be as cheap but a much better chance of receiving the correct part first time.

IMHO anyway.................

rock auto does not do customer service calls anymore. you get what you order and they is no returns .....even if they send you something you did not order.

i stopped dealing with them after having to eat a power window motor and a power door lock actuator. ordered ford parts, and got buick parts instead.
when i tried returning i was told i got what i ordered, even though the shipping papers clearly had different part numbers that what was ordered.

Buying local is the best thing, supports local jobs and better customer service.

If you paid by credit card - don't know about PayPal - you can file a cardholder complaint within 120 days and the card issuer will charge the cost back to RockAuto and issue you a credit. Call your credit card customer service for help doing this as there is very specific information required in your chargeback complaint that is required.

my deal with them was year sago just before they stopped taking calls.
and i called the card company to register a complaint rite after i got off the phone with rockauto.
they eventually sent a prepaid return label to me, but it took them close to two months, and i was not waiting for them to admit they screwed up and credit me.

That's a great suggestion and I believe PayPal has a similar process for registering complaints that can eventually result in the full cost being returned to the buyer. I've never had occasion to use that feature of PayPal but its well worth looking into in situations like this.
