I remember reading in a car mag once that you really want to have hard brake line for most of your runs as hose will really give your pedal a soft, spongy feel.

Sorry to ask again, are you still running drums on the rear?

I assume new and reman units do not have the rod/spring between the booster and M/C. So I got a 2001 Cheb 2500 unit at a local recycler.

Do you recall what type of fitting are on the HB unit? metric 18/mm/16mm o-ring?

like your fuel system, I'm trying to benefit from your experience, thanks!

No problem. I try to keep all the information in a spreadsheet so I can figure what I used in 10 years when I have a problem with something.

Right now I am running the stock 79 f250 brakes front and rear. So drums in the back.

The booster is a ACDelco 178-1040 that was new. I think I ordered of Amazon for 150.

the fitting for the booster are:
Earls 961955ERL -6 AN Male to 16mm x 1.50 Male
Earls 961956ERL -6 AN Male to 18mm x 1.50 Male
I want to say I found a kit on ebay that had the two main lines along with an an adapter for the return for less later.

I got the rod from an ebay junk yard one that I got. I would have tried to use it but the pedal rod was broken off from shipping.

Is that for the hydraulic lines? My petal is very touchy compared to any of the newer cars I have driven lately. My brakes might also be more sensitive because of high ratio pedal it had for the original non-power brakes.

I think Rich is referring to the brake lines not the power steering hoses.

Thanks for the part numbers and fitting information, stored away for future use.

This might help out on the pushrod lengths.
