AIH Delete Question
I was reading the coffee table articles in the Tech Folder about AIH delete along with the video. The video didn't mention anything about the delete causing a "soft code" so I was also looking at some U-Tube vids about it and they mentioned a "soft code" would show up after the delete. What does it mean to throw a soft code, will it illuminate the CEL, and is there a way to not have the delete throw a code?
Thanks

I deleted mine and didn't buy the cable. I have yet to see a soft code in Torque Pro with my OBDII dongle
BTW: On the CA or later Federal ECGPM, put a 1 OHM Diode in line and you won't get a DTC.
In addition, I thought there were specific atmospheric and vehicle conditions that had to be met before the for the AIH would work.
After a quick Google search I found this...The AIH rarely cycles "ON" and is only used when the following conditions are met:
• Transmission is in park (automatic) or neutral (manual).
• Parking brake is set (applies to manual transmissions only).
• Engine oil temperature (EOT) is below 131° F (55° C).
• Engine speed is above 1,000 rpm.
• Intake air temperature (IAT) is below 32° F (0° C) if engine high idle is ~1,000 rpm, IAT below 14° F (-10° C) if engine high idle is ~1,100 rpm.
• System voltage to PCM is between 11.8 and 15.0 volts.
• Glow plugs are deactivated (not currently cycling).
• Brake pedal is NOT depressed.
• Accelerator pedal is in the idle position (not depressed).
I have not finished my coffee yet, so I am going to leave it at that and not take a look in the Ford Service Manual PCED at this time.
