5/8" seems alittle big I was thinking 1/2" as the 91 4.9 has these tubes running up top of intake runners into the heads they don't appear as a 5/8" diameter nor do they appear to be course thread. I do know that the 5.0 5.8 have a larger size and the 92 and up 4.9 the air tubes run under the intake runners. My question to you is , did you do this yourself ie first hand experience or are you guessing?
thx
That is a fair question. I researched this when getting ready to build my 5.8L, but I ended up going with GT40 heads, so I didn't have to plug Air Pump holes.
The Plugs for the back of head of the V8 is correct size I'm speaking of the air tubes that are threaded on at each cylinder on the 4.9 300cid engine those would require a smaller plugs 6 to be exact on the 91 model it injects air individually to each cylinder. So that is the plugs I'm referring to as to the size.
