These pictures of a set of wheel adapters were posted on FaceBook. Thought you guys would be interested in them and maybe know something about them. The poster said he found under the seat of a truck 30 years ago. I showed to our resident wheel guru Stu, he didn't know anything about them although they look similar to a set he got a few years ago. I would think they're for a F-4/5/6
Not super familiar with daytons but they look like a easy way to adapt our 5 lug wheels to dayton wheels? At least for the steer axle. Stu, educate me on how these work, and is there such an adpater for rears?
Seems the more you know on a subject there’s always something you didn’t know. This is a front spacer set that is different than the set I found a couple years ago. I’ve got references showing my set but nothing I recall with these pictured. I’ll go back to the books to see if I’ve overlooked them, but I think I’d remember. According to the FB thread you sent it seems the guy is willing to sell them, and has interest. I need them like another hole in my head, but would talk to the guy too. But then I’ve gotta look for sets of rears to match two different front sets. Below is a pic of my set and the old thread about them. Stu

I have a set for the 6 lug like the 5 lug Stu posted and I have the matching rear for the 6 lug as well

Josh - any Dayton style 20” cast spoke mounting will accept either a 20” or 22.5” outer rim. All these have a 28° mounting surface where the rim mates to the spoked wheel. These adapters were used to allow a truck to use demountable rims front and rear when a true Dayton style rear axle was fitted to the truck. In my above picture you can’t see it but my set came to me with a Timken Detroit two speed double reduction rear axle that has Daytons.
The only set of rears I’ve seen in real life, besides in sales literature, are the ones on this crew cab Coleman we’ve all seen. Slim chance I’d ever get to buy this set! So the search continues. Stu
I did go back through the old catalogs to see if I could find the ones in Bob’s pics, but no luck. Did remember this below style that I’ve not seen in real life either. Stu
