Sticking accelerator
Two hours ago my son was involved in a rollover accident in a 1993 Explorer.
The accelerator stuck wide open on the on ramp to an airport. The brakes would not stop the vehicle and eventually failed completely. He made it through a parking lot without hitting anything, then struck a curb and rolled it one and a half times.
He's OK. His passenger had minor injuries. My questions are, does anyone know of similar happenings, is this a problem Ford is aware of, and are there any TSB or Recalls for this problem?

No TSB's about sticking open accelerators.
But there was a Tsb and a recall on throttle body's
sticking closed or hard pedal .This was a while ago!
Glad everybody is okay!
But why didn't he turn the key off or wasn't ther enough time on the ramp.

Thanks. I'm thankful they're OK.
As far as turning off the key or throwing it in neutral, I imagine he had his hands full trying to navigate the short term parking lot at 40 or 50 miles per hour.
The police told him he did some amazing driving.
