I've done some searching and may have missed it, but has anyone using a Softopper canvas cap also been able to use a stake pocket rack? At the very least I would like to see a shot of the clearance from the Softopper and the stake pockets.
I run a soft tonneau now, and have no issues with my stake pocket rack. I typically only use the rack when we go kayaking or to carry very long lumber/ladders for projects. It does not stay on the truck. I've been considering a softopper to gain more dry storage when I go on Jeep trips where we camp or when we go on vacation.
I can't find a picture right now of the rack on my 2017, but here it is on my 2011. I had to get longer 'legs' for the 2017 due to the higher roof, but this gives the general idea of how the rack sits.
I've priced one out already, but not sure if my rack will still work.
I ran a softopper on my Tacoma and loved it, they are awesome and built really well. Not many people have them on full size trucks, not sure why. When looking at the instructions it mentions mounting the rail 1/2 from the inside of the inner truck rail. That is a picture for the Tacoma but it says it should be the same for all trucks. So you should be able to guess pretty accurately from that. Sorry I couldn't answer you completely.

Thanks for this. I can take some rough measurements to see how close this is to the rear stake pocket. I've found one 2017+ picture. It looks close, but the angle is bad so I really cannot tell.
I have a Softopper (8' bed) and have the US Rack Cap Rack (there's a few pics on their site that show the combo). The Softopper rails clamp down over the feet of the rack to the bed rail. I'd be very interested to know if the stake pocket rack works with the Softopper as well.
Another thing to take into consideration is will the sides of the Softopper clear the angled legs of the rack? Hard to tell from your pic.. whether or not a stake pocket rack can be used with a topper due to clearance.
Trying to raise the Softopper with a rack is a pain. I have to raise the topper from folded position, unclamp the rails at one end, slide the rack feet under, and reclamp. Unfortunately I don't know of another way to do it.

My Stake pocket rack is from US Racks and it does angle in. I need to measure the distance between the narrowest portion; I believe the height is fine. If I could just get a close up of where the Softopper meets the bed at each stake pocket, I can likely make a decision. I did a quick scan of the US Rack site, but did not see any pics yet. I give it a closer look later.
Here's my truck with the Softopper and US Rack Cap Rack. If going the Cap Rack route, I advise ordering over the phone since the internet order didn't include the correct legs for the wider bed rails. Had to fix that issue after the fact.

It looks good! I already have the stake pocket rack and I do not want to buy a new rack. I’ll just deal with the tonneau cover.
