I dont get it...

2002 F250 w/ 7.3 with NO mods other than a Banks Cold air intake. 164k, fresh oil change.

I have had this truck at the ford dealer 3 times and each time its always the same... ICP failure. Literally it was 478miles since the last ICP was replaced at the dealership. This truck is a Farm truck so it mostly sits. I take it into town for feed and stuff but its the same story.. above 50mph and using TORQUE Pro to get values, everything seems fine. Drop below that and i almost assuredly gonna stall.

Yesterday going into town, I opened Torque pro and had the wife drive.....after the truck warmed up we left... I start watching the values and 2 miles into the trip came the first stop... this was the first stall. The values are as follows after stalling and before restart which she starts right back up.

HPOP : 521,486,454,439,378,321,274,196,87,21.3,13.7 (PSI) ( these values dropped off and the truck was getting ready to die.)
IPR: 14.7%
vbATT 12.4V
EOT 190.9F
EBP 15.9 PSI
INJ PW 600.0
MAP 14.2PSI
MFUEL 0.0 MG/STROKE
TRANSFL 139.4F
REVS 0
INTAKE 14.2 INTAKE
TIMING ADV -64
VACUUM -.49 IN/Hg
SPEED 0

The Pig tail was replaced as wellwith the first sensor change . No oil present on pigtail or in the sensor itself. If I unplug the pigtail..I get about 750 psi at idle...plug it back in and its about 525 at idle

I am having a hard time believing that im constantly getting bad ICP sensors from the dealer.

Would anyone have any other things that I can try?

Thanks in advance.

Unplug the sensor and see how it runs. The sensors at the parts houses and some dealers are notorious junk, make sure the dealer gets you an International part. Make the socket or grab one for about 30 bucks to remove it and save a little coin. I took mine to the dealership about 6 years ago and it cost 1600 bucks

With ICP unplugged, the value you see on scan tool is not a real number.

If truck does not stall with it unplugged, you’ll need a new ICP sensor.

My first suspect would be the ‘tin’ nut on IPR is loose/fallen off. If that is good and ICP sensor is not the problem - you’re likely looking at IPR or HPOP issue.

Using Torque pro and with the ICP unplugged, I was able to go and do what i needed to with no issues.

the HPOP value that I seen was 729.6 and it increased as the accelerator was depressed. It never stalled or shuddered one time.

The tin nut on the IPR is tight and was tight the whole time.

So with being said...do i have a bad ICP sensor? if so what is the International part number? Thanks

Agreed.

With ICP unplugged the PCM creates a default value for the engine to run.
