Why an Excursion?

I drive a 2000 F-350 dually crew cab, and my wife drives a 2002 Explorer. When we bought her ride, we also looked at Expeditions, which was what I wanted her to get at that time, but she opted for the Explorer, for various reasons. Anywho, I have been trying to convince her that she should get an Excursion next. I think it would be ultra-cool to have TWO diesels in the family. However, she always says they are too big and that she likes what she has just fine. Not really sure how to argue with that reasoning. After all, the more economical choice would be her current vehicle. Would some of you mind helping me come up with reasons to try and convince her? Of course, my intentions are strictly personal and selfish. I would get to drive it on occasion, ya know.........

Thanks!

Wish I could help.

Bottom line is she should drive what she feels most comfortable in, right?

I tried like heck to get my wife to replace our Excursion with a 6.0L Excursion to no avail. She had driven the old one for 2 years and felt that the Expy was a better fit for her.

Look up though, at least you've got a truck! I drive around in a mini-van!!!! Well...I also have Cadillac...hell...might as well be 2 minivans!

The only real convincing arguement would be crash protection. I'd rather be in an Excursion anyday!

Unless you NEED it there probably isn't any real good argument.
Unless you like gas stations

I need mine to carry all the people I need to help set up the hot air balloon that I pull with it. Maybe she needs a new hobby.

good luck!

Thanks to the guarantee for the pursuit of happiness, it's not a matter of "need." If I WANT it, and can get it, then I'll have it. I did not NEED my Excursion (other vehicles could satisfy my needs), but I wanted it, I could buy it, I did, and now I enjoy it. Yes ... it IS a material thing.

But your question eludes to possible other problems. If your desire is to remain married, let the lady drive whatever makes her happy. She's entitled to her own pursuit of happiness, too!
